Maggie Demel

Maggie Demel is a freelance artist and educator living In the greater Austin area. She has performed all throughout the US and abroad, appearing with groups including: The Victoria Symphony (TX), Central Texas Philharmonic(TX), Santa Fe Symphony (NM), New Mexico Philharmonic(NM), and The Austin Brass Collective. Her passion and love for music shine
through in her work as a soloist, performer, and educator. As an educator, Ms.Demel has a studio of over 60+ students in the greater Austin area.
Maggie Demel was born and raised in Pflugerville, Texas just outside of Austin. She received her Bachelors in Music Education from the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque where she studied under Dr. Mike Walker. She then went on to receive her Masters in Music Performance at the University of Texas - Austin with the guidance of Professor Patrick Hughes, where she also served as the Teaching Assistant for the Horn Studio. Ms. Demel was a member of both the University of Texas Wind Ensemble under the direction of Jerry Junkin, and the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Farkhad Khudyev, serving as principal horn for two seasons.
As a soloist, Maggie traveled to the 50th international horn conference in Ghent, Belgium in the Summer of 2019. She was one of five finalists in the Premiere Soloist Competition. Along with her soloist and performing career, Ms.Demel has been dedicated to teaching future generations of musicians, and has a growing and thriving private studio. Maggie is currently expanding her studio in the next year and has plans to continue her music education journey in the Austin area. In her free time, she loves hiking, spending time with her adorable dog Bailee,
and baking.
